Always something new at the market…
We have been open a few weeks now and it is continuing to be an adventure.…in the nicest possible way of course.
Obviously due to self isolation, not every stallholder is in but you will find most of the ‘regulars’ in. We are all pulling together to offer a pay station, which allows customers to purchase items from stalls if the stallholders are not present, though usually one of the neighbouring sellers can help with that anyway.
We also have a one way system in place, hand sanitizer stations and social distancing signs so you can be sure to browse in confidence that you won’t be crowded. On the whole this is all working very well as generally people are sensible about keeping their distance and how they move around the market.
Aside from new stock we also have some new stalls, offering bicycles, vintage furniture, ‘new’ furniture hand-made from recycled and reclaimed industrial materials and we will soon have a haberdashery stall for those of you craft and making inclined.
Unfortunately, because of government guidelines, our café is not open at present but we look forward to the opening of the new ‘Mad Hatter Tea Room’ with anticipation, when all sorts of delights will be on the menu. In the meantime it’s flask city!
If you haven’t been down to see us yet, pop in. There’s some lovely stuff just waiting for a new home!
